​Millions of students across rural Kenya face an educational crisis rooted in water. Lacking safe water access, they depend on contaminated sources, which fuels rampant waterborne illnesses. This epidemic of disease directly disrupts education, causing children to miss critical school days every month and jeopardizing their long-term health.

Recognizing that most school WASH programs are ineffective, Aqua Clara Kenya and our partners created the H2OPE for Schools Program. Our solution goes beyond simple hygiene tips by establishing engaging, hands-on WASH Clubs to create lasting behavior change. To complete our work, we also install safe water systems for the entire school and provide tabletop filters, ensuring clean, safe drinking water is always within reach in every classroom.
